Welcome to the online nomination site where you can submit your nomination to stand for election to the British Parachute Association Council in 2020. Successful candidates will take their seats immediately after the AGM on Saturday 25 January 2020.
To be eligible for nomination, a nominee must:
- be a current BPA full member who has been proposed and seconded by current BPA full members,
- agree to the declaration on the next page, and
- complete all fields in the nomination form.
This election is for five Elected Member seats on BPA Council. Four of the seats have a tenure of three years and, to fill a casual vacancy, one seat has a tenure of one year. BPA Council comprises 10 Elected Members and 2 Independent Members. All Council Members are Non-Executive Directors of British Parachute Association Ltd. The AGM on Saturday 25 January 2020 is the fourth AGM following the adoption of BPA’s new Articles of Association.
Nominees and their proposers and seconders should first familiarise themselves with the role profile of a BPA Council Member and also with the duties and obligations of Council Members as Directors as set out in the BPA Articles of Association.
Submission of nominations closes at noon on Wednesday 13 November 2019. If there are more nominees than the five available seats for Elected Council Members, an election will be held.
Please note: For a nomination to be valid the proposer and seconder must confirm their support using the online form by noon on Wednesday 13 November 2019. Please ensure that you leave sufficient time for your proposer and seconder to complete the form to support your nomination - without this, your nomination is not complete and is therefore not eligible to be processed. Any supporter confirmation received after the close of nominations will not be accepted because the nomination was incomplete at the close of nominations. We have to abide by this rule to be fair to everyone.
