The BDA is looking to elect one member to its Board This is a major opportunity for you to take a leading role in the development of your Association.

Becoming a Board member and director offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your leadership practice, your strategic skills and to make a significant contribution to how dentistry is developing in the 21st century.

Our directors work collaboratively, bringing constructive challenge to all matters under consideration and always upholding the Association’s mission to "promote the interests of members, advance the science, arts and ethics of dentistry and improve the nation’s oral health."

We are looking to one director from our London region (link) to our Board up until 31 December 2022. Responsible for the strategic and financial stewardship of the Association, Directors will need to commit to attending Board meetings and engaging in debate and decision making in-between formal meetings.

The BDA is committed to the principle of equal opportunity for all members. We particularly welcome applications from women, individuals from ethnic minority groups and employed dentists, as we are currently underrepresented in these areas.

It is vital that our Board has a good diversity of knowledge, skills and other attributes and as such, we are encouraging applications from people who can demonstrate a track record of experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Strategy development and evaluation
  • Strategic risk evaluation and monitoring
  • Change management
  • Organisation design
  • Talent development and succession planning
