Governor Elections 2024
Nominations are invited for election to the Board of Governors. There are TWO vacancies. Candidate, proposer and seconder must all be voting members of BACP (reference: Standing Orders 8.2). Please refer to the published key dates on our website and nomination site.

Proposer and seconder details
Your nomination must be supported by a proposer and seconder. Please ensure you have their permission to disclose the personal information below, prior to submitting your nomination. Mi-voice will make contact via email for the supporter authentications.
Supporter’s statements must be received by 17:00 on Tuesday 28 May. Unsupported nominations will be invalidated and you’ll be unable to stand for election.

Your answers to each question will form your candidate statement and will be published exactly as submitted in a candidate booklet, as part of the election material, for membership voting.
Article 26 permits the Board of Governors to appoint a sub-committee to determine if proposed candidates meet the requisite skills set. If convened, nominees will be informed.

Data protection
The information you provide will:
be used only for the Board of Governor 2023 election and for no other purpose;
be processed in accordance with data protection principles;
be held securely by BACP and then destroyed 12 months following the 2024 AGM;
be held securely on Mi-voice servers and destroyed six months following the close of the election.
The information will be shared with:
relevant BACP staff e.g. the Governance team (whole form);
Mi-Voice, who provide the online nomination platform and administer the election process (whole form);
BACP members, as election material for voting purposes (candidate name, proposer and seconder names, candidate information, photo and video).
Due diligence
BACP conducts due diligence checks on all nominations. Once a nomination has been received we will contact you with the relevant documents to complete.
Consent
The data you have supplied will be stored on Mi-Voice’s servers for 6 months following the close of the election. Your personal information will not be disclosed to any other organisation other than the BACP.
